Dr. Oaklee is passionate about supporting her clients to develop a system to achieve their professional, educational, and creative writing goals on a timeline that fits their needs. Adaptable to the needs of each client, Dr. O works with her clients’ strengths to address their challenges.

An educator and leader, Dr. O earned a PhD in Cultural Studies from Claremont Graduate University in 2023, an MA in English Rhetoric, Composition, and Professional Communications from Iowa State University in 2018, and a BA in English Literature and Creative Writing from Keene State College in 2016. She has taught writing courses at the undergraduate and graduate level. She began her work in university writing centers as a writing center intern at Keene State College in 2016 and worked as a graduate student writing consultant from 2020-2023. Dr. O was the winner of the 2022-2023 Grace Berry Award and she came in first place at the CGU 2022 Big Pitch Competition. Since the launch of Oaklee Writing Studio (formerly Dr. V Professional Writing Services) in 2022, Dr. O has supported students to advance to ABD status, complete their doctoral dissertation and pass their oral defense. Additionally, Dr. O has worked with clients in non-academic industries to improve their writing for their profession and she has even helped folks without a writing background to draft book projects within their field. Dr. O has copy edited articles, manuscripts, and screenplays, as well as helping clients with CVs, resumes, or other professional documents throughout her years of writing consulting.

After graduating with an MA in 2018, Dr. O took a gap year to travel across the United States with her partner. Then she enrolled in her PhD program in Fall 2019. Dr. O successfully completed her doctoral degree within four years, demonstrating her awareness of how to strategically take action. She defended her dissertation proposal in May 2022 and successfully passed her final dissertation defense in March 2023. Dr. O believes that her clients can achieve similar progress by adopting her tried and true strategies for advancing through their degree program.
