What people are saying.

  • "I cannot express my gratitude to Dr. Oaklee and recommend her whole heartedly to anyone feeling like they are in quicksand trying to make progress in their writing goals. I was paralyzed working independently making the entire writing process more complicated and arduous than needed and had lost all joy in this final milestone to complete my dissertation. Dr. O’s strategies made the process so much more feasible, simpler, and changed my mindset, giving me more energy and allowing me to celebrate in small incremental successes of progress which has given me momentum to not give up. After many years in my doctoral program and multiple unsuccessful drafts of my proposal, I was at a crisis point and could not see how I could get to the finish line of the deliverables needed by my committee to successfully move forward. I was overwhelmed and at a stalemate with my dissertation when I was connected to Dr. Oaklee who is a phenomenal coach, accountability partner, and editing queen. Through regular Zoom meetings, I was able to clarify my ideas through thoughtful low risk conversations that helped me shed areas of my writing that I was overcommitted to that were holding me back to making progress. Her strategies of support helped me to free up my mind and allowed me to make meaningful progress in my writing goals. Our sessions were conversational and fun, tailoring the content I had already written in support of a clearer research question that she worked with me to finalize. Our sessions were spent filling in the holes that were needed to make the draft comprehensive towards my proposal goal while keeping the expectations of my committee in mind. From my commitment to meet regularly and to work on writing goals between our sessions, I began to see the draft take shape which provided me more momentum and energy that I had not seen in my writing in years. By the end of 12 weeks working together, I had a defendable proposal draft. I utilized Dr. O for copy editing to ensure it was polished for a defense which I completed shortly thereafter and am currently ABD. I will continue to utilize Dr. O’s services to get me to the finish line as I can see it in sight now, which is more than I could say before I was working with her. I look forward to writing a follow-up review after I defend my full dissertation!"
